Ok design and functionality
This toilet is ok. Considering it’s considerably more expensive than the one we got from Lowe’s (American Standard brand) for another bath during our remodel, it doesn’t feel nicer or more high end. In fact, the lever is kind of flimsy and it’s overall louder. We ordered two but one came broken — packing needs improving.

Update after 3 months still Excellent performance, comfort and installation.
This works beautifully (first 3 days), cleanly and quietly. Amazingly little water used compared with the ancient one we had. Comfortable. The seat and seat cover as provided feel a little flimsy, and we may replace them eventually. It was easy to install. Bolts and wax rings had to be be bought separately, and the bolts still need to be sawed down so the caps will fit. It's a smidgen too close to the wall in one of the two bathrooms, so the lid doesn't quite fit down snug. When we retile, we'll use 3/8 wallboard rather than 1/2 inch and it will sit right. That won't be for a while. It's quite usable in spite of the tiny error in seating. The only other matter is the small size of the surface--can hold a box of tissues and maybe a hairbrush. We'll take that into account when we do the next phase of renovation.Update: This works well for us, and it looks like switching to the low-flow arrangement has saved us half of our water bill! You do have to clean the bowl more often, but it cleans easily with the usual toilet brush, no need to put on gloves to scrub with a sponge.

Toilet is great! Delivery is in pieces.
This is a great toilet. I have owned 1 for 7 yrs with zero issues. The dilemma of reviewing a great item that arrives in pieces. So deduct 2 stars for not packaging the item to prevent damage. UPS guy said nearly every toilet he delivers is broken. There was not a single fragile, handle with care, breakable warning anywhere on the box. It's 100+ lbs. so not easy to handle gently. Amazon did a great job with return. Buy this toilet LOCALLY and you will be happy.

UPDATE: 100% flushes 100% of the time.
The media could not be loaded. It's a toilet. It works. Actually it works very well. It's been a few weeks and so far everything has gone down as It's supposed to. I think the tank lid could be a slightly better fit. Also the finished surface has a dimple or two. CAUTION: Due to the large footprint of the base I nearly had to relocate my water supply line where it comes up through the floor. Something I didn't foresee. I do love the one piece toilet concept. Less to go wrong and repair. Looking at the tank plumbing it'll be much easier to replace/repair than a two piece toilet when the time comes. I'm still amazed at how well it flushes. So far I haven't had to do a second flush to finish the job. Not once. Handles logs and floaters really well. (Should be the review title) No video of that though. Not even on request.

wife Loves This Toilet
The toilet we replaced was a perfectly good 35 year old toilet, but with my wife needing knee replacement we needed a "comfort height" toilet. The toilet was easy to install by myself and I used a "Sani Seal" instead of a wax ring. This is the first time I ever used a Sani Seal and it made installing the toilet much more easy. If you have leaks after using a wax seal it really gets messy removing the toilet and installing another wax seal. With the Sani Seal there is no mess and the toilet sealed perfectly the first time. The Sani Seal costs a few bucks more but well worth it. Both my wife and I love the added 2 1/2" the "comfort height" provides and my wife loves the looks of the toilet. I was a little leery of the 1.6 gpf, but after a week of using the toilet it flushes perfectly every time. The old 5 gpf toilet sometimes needed 2 or 3 flushes to clear the bowl. I would recommend this toilet to anyone looking to replace their old toilet.

Beautiful! Worth the $$. Got the Black.
We are now installing this toilet, so I'm unable to review its' performance. However, it IS beautiful and hubby said easy to install. There is a slight lack of paint/stain where lid meets top of back. I'll use black marker and clear nail polish to correct. Carrier called to say first one was rattling in box. I refused over the phone. Received replacement quickly; I was surprised at great customer service. LOVE the look and size/height. We prefer soft closing seats, so will look on Kohler website for that. We have brass in that room, so will also look for shiny gold flush kit. Did tons of research. The Santa Rosa had much better reviews than the Cimarron. Amazon had the best pricing and quick shipment. Love the 1.6 gpm; much better than old toilet we pulled out. UPDATE: 2 years later. Still GREAT toilet. Seat has cracked. Researching for new one. We are not over weight ppl; no idea why might crack after 2 yrs.

Really like the first one-so needed one for the other bathroom
This was our second purchase of this item. Really like the first one-so needed one for the other bathroom. Nice looking, flushes very good on first flush each time it is used. Easy to clean. Like the comfort height. Only downside--- The seat is not very comfortable. The designer needs to sit on one for a while to see how uncomfortable it can get. While reading reviews, I did see someone recommend a replacement seat, but can't find it now to know which one to get.

Came with broken top.
The packing around the exterior of the manufacturer’s box is excellent. The packing in the manufacturer’s box was poor. The tank top was placed in a thin box which had popped open. That allowed the tank top to touch the tank and break. The seat was wedged along side the tank which could have deformed it but didn’t. The packaging engineer at Kohler needs to get a different job. Especially after reading all the Amazon reviews. Come on Kohler. This is not brain surgery. Customers should not be subjected this hassle due to your poor packaging engineering and pricing based on broken replacements.I called Kohler and the warranty department was great. They are sending a replacement. I will revise my review after using it for a couple months. Thank you warranty department.
