Updated 8/2015:I've downgraded my review from 4 to 1 star. After a month or two, the tablets (I bought two) got even slower and worse about holding a charge. Now, they're completely unusable. I had my micro SD card in my daughter's tablet and there was no difference between the two tablets. Don't waste your money, it might be an affordable tablet, but you'll be out of $70+ in a few months that you could've put toward something that'll last.*original review*There are a lot of neat things about this tablet. I bought two for two of my three children (my youngest is a newborn). The most obvious reason is the price tag. A close second is that it has Android which gives it way more options than most other kiddie tablets on the market. I also like the big three shortcuts to arcade, books, and videos on the home screen.The features I'm on the fence about...Although I like the big shortcuts, I wish they were customizable. I downloaded a movie on each tablet and they have to open up the menu, go to the video app, and then play the video. Not an issue normally, but the issues with responsiveness and lag make it pretty frustrating.Backgrounds are cute but there appears to be no options for a custom background.Camera. Let's face it... It stinks. But my daughter enjoys it anyway. The silly frames are a cute idea.Parental controls are lacking with just what it has out of the box. I linked my android account so all of my apps showed up but were automatically set to "off" so that saved some hassle of having to edit all of my stuff. However, I wish it had some sort of timer to lock it after a certain amount of time or during certain hours... I'm not too worried about blocking websites yet, though, so that's not an issue for me.Some of the bigger cons were...Lag. The tablet can be pretty slow to respond which is pretty frustrating even for me as an adult. However my kids are just so thrilled to have their own tablets that it doesn't bug them too much. By the time they get one app opened, they've already changed their minds about what they wanted to open. My preschooler even tells her little brother, "Wait for it to load..." They do have limited tech time, so I can see that getting irritating to them when they realize that the lag is eating up their precious minutes.No protective cases that fit properly. I shoved one on each of them but all of the button holes are in the wrong spots. Oh well, they need the cases more than easy button access.Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up since my children do love their Smartabs. I don't know that'd I'd go out of my way to recommend it to others, though. If you have the extra money, I'd say get a better tablet.

I wish I could give this tablet a good review, because the software is great. The hardware is terrible. It broke after two weeks of light use. First the charger broke after a week, and then it quit charging with other chargers after two weeks. My 7 year old loves the games it includes, and I love the parental controls, but the charger and port are very poorly designed. They do not hold up to being plugged and unplugged daily.

I am just disappointed. I got this for my daughter knowing it would be a kids tablet but I wish I would've realized how limited everything is in child mode. This would be appropriate for young kids. Like maybe age 2-6. They can't access youtube or google content from child mode. If I had realized i would never have gotten it. So I decided to just pay more and get the kids kindle. Yes I lose the google content but the included FreeTime makes it worth it with full games not free demos or lite versions. I don't know what I will do with this Smartab Jr. I wish there was a version of it that was not so limited because it was a good idea and a well made tablet.

I ordered this in Aug for my son's 6th Bday he loved it wouldn't put it down it is a little slow but not to bad. I ordered a case that was recominded for it but it didn't fit all that well and my son couldn't get to the volume and power button so we took it off barely dropped it in Dec 4 months after purchasing and the side corner of the screen turned black screen Did Not crack though so he could still play it about a week and a half later the bottom half of the screen turned black so now he can't play it

Very pleased with this tablet! I like the parental controls, even had my husband confused on how to get around it, LOL! My little boy loves it and it's very easy to use. Already have lots of games downloaded on it. Can't wait to order one for my daughter when she is old enough to appreciate such technology. I rated it 4 stars because sometimes there is a little delay when selecting an app, or I have to press it a couple times for it to open, but it may be the screen protector on it, or I need to clean toddler fingerprints off of it... can't really tell, but for my almost 3 year old this is PERFECT!

I'm not really sure why this got so many stars. I purchased the tablet for my 2 year old twins to watch movies on and play with. I mainly purchased the tablet based on the reviews and price - but you get what you pay for. These were way too slow. My daughter got frustrated waiting for things to load and would keep hitting buttons. By the time the tablet caught up with her hitting buttons it would execute every button she pressed, causing more frustration. I will add that my kids played with my Google nexus tablet which is lightening fast so they are used to a fast response. If your kids don't have anything to compare it to it might not be that bad. I like the preloaded content - we just couldn't stand the slowness so I will be returning.

My kids LOVE these tablets . They have had several other brands and none caught their interest like these, however they do tend to get really slow the longer you play them and the batteries don't last but about 30 minutes so on long road trips thag can get frustrating. On the plus side it has alot of pre-loaded games , songs and books . Also love the kids mode and the option for adults or older kids to have a regular tablet view which means my kids can grow into these for a few years . Also like that in adult mode you can download tons of stuff off Google play and choice which you want to be available in kids mode or not. Really wish the batteries were better but all around BEST investment yet ...

We bought this tablet for our childs birthday. I set it up a week before but never actually went into the apps. Our daughter loves to watch youtube videos and play games. Youtube wouldn't play at all. I spend 3 hours, which is apparently its battery life also, and got no where. The games that were supposed to be pre loaded weren't even there. I would never ever recommend this to any person. I am so irate right now with this because now she doesn't even have her Major Birthday present
