Awesome product, highest quality!
I am so happy with this purchase! Everything about this kit is high quality....even the box it comes in, which looks great and is very sturdy - a perfect place to store the pin and strips. The pin is made of the highest quality stainless steel and has a nice weight to it. I made homemade pie crust tonight and it turned out amazing! One of the best features is the ability to fill the rolling pin with ice cold water which keeps your dough cold while you are rolling it. This makes the dough less sticky and easier to work with. I was a little concerned at first that the removable blue caps that go on the ends of the rolling pin might be hard to take off and put back on, but that turned out not to be a problem at all. I was easily able to get the cap back on securely after I filled the pin with water, and there was no leaking. Another great feature is the set of guide strips, which made it a breeze to roll out a perfectly even crust. I love this product so much, I'm thinking about buying one for my mom for Mother's Day!

Finally made a good pastry!!! First time ever!
Well, this product is amazing. I have been trying for years to make good pastry and I had no idea where I was going wrong until today. I got this bad boy in the mail a few days ago and I followed the instructions to use cool water. That is like a ninja secret! It works wonders. The strips also are fantastic quality and they helped me keep the pastry uniform. I made 3 awesome apple pies and we ate the first one and it was delicious!!!A few notes about the product-It's nice and long, and has very useful markings on it to show you the size you are making-3 sets of strips came with it, I assume to make different things like cookies but so far I'm too happy making pies to do anything else yet-The end caps are surprisingly easy to use and keep everything nice and neat-The hero strips are very cool. I see a lot of uses for them with and without the rolling pin.Overall, I'm very pleased. It seems like a good product. Might make a baker out of me yet!!

Amazing Functionality!
I received this roller for Mother's Day. The size, weight, and length is absolutely perfect and the silicone guides make it an amazing value. The box, as another reviewer mentioned, seems very durable and I am using it for storage.I have only tried it for cookie dough, so I filled it with iced water. Rolling the dough was incredibly easy. The only con I have with this system is that it is difficult to dry inside. I kept the caps off after using and attempting to dry it inside, since I'm afraid that by leaving them on while in storage, mold or some other unsanitary entities will find it a suitable environment in which to live. This perhaps is me just being paranoid, but I take food safety seriously.I am afraid to lose the caps, but, as I mentioned above, I'm using the box to store all the pieces, so hopefully they won't get lost.In sum, OUTSTANDING product, but I have some reservations about mildew growing. Perhaps I'm overreacting and this is an unsubstantiated claim, as I have not seen any evidence to support my views. I am simply attempting to prevent a problem. Also, another plus: awesome costumer service!

Missing parts
I bought this rolling pin specifically because it came with the hero strips. The box even claims to have it in there but no strips were included!

Missing the strips
I have ordered this item twice and it did not have the hero strips (silicone gauge strips) either time. But overall it appears to be a great rolling pin.

Everyone needs this rolling pin. It's awesome
Wow this is a great rolling pin. My kids and I make pie dough at least 3 times a week as they just love jam tarts. So I like to think we know how to make good dough. The most important thing is keeping the dough cool while working it.Mine goes in the fridge for 30 mins and then we take it out and roll it as quick as we can before it warms up. This prevents the butter in the dough from melting and making a sticky dough and more importantly means that when it goes into the oven the butter creates pockets of steam and this is what creates a nice flaky crust. So when I saw you could fill this rolling pin with cold water I was sold. I have used wine bottles filled with cold water to do the same job in the past. But this rolling pin is designed to a T. The plugs on the end are tight and ensure no leakage. There are cool measurements in both centimeters and inches on the pin.It comes in a very cool box with a set of 6 silicone thickness guides. The box is so cool that I will be keeping the set in it in the cupboard. When we tried the thickness guides the kids were able to roll perfectly even dough without any fuss.I know I'm a bit of a perfectionist but the guys who designed this must be perfectionist nuts! I couldn't find one thing I didn't like and they even emailed me a comic of instructions showing how best to use the kit. Because it is stainless steel clean up is simple and I have no worries of it getting smelly or growing germs. They have a silicone pie weight chain for blind baking pie crusts too so that is going to be my next purchase.I love this rolling pin and well done to the company who made it.

Love it, Love it, Love it!!
This rolling pin is awesome! I used it last weekend to make a gluten-free pie crust and you know how tough those can be to work with. The dough recipe said it had to stay cold, so I busted out this rolling pin. I filled it with iced water and it worked perfectly! It kept the crust cold the whole time. Also, the little silicone strips helped me keep the dough the right thickness. All I had to do was put the crust between the strips and use the rolling pin over the strips. It sounds strange, I know, but I swear it works! I added a picture to show what I did. The only issue I had was getting the plug in and out of the side of the rolling pin. But, I understand it has to seal properly or otherwise the water will leak out and make a mess. Which, did not happen, by the way. My husband used it on biscuits too and it kept the dough really cold so the butter wouldn't melt. He loves it too! I am really pleased with the rolling pin and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a product like this.
