Product Description 180 gm VINYL - In a music scene full of seemingly endless subgenres and transient trends, In Flames are an example of what it means to steadfastly stay true to your vision. Since forming in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1990, the legendary melodic metal act has had six albums debut in the top ten in Sweden (including two #1 debuts), toured alongside everyone from Metallica to Judas Priest and influenced many of today's biggest metal acts without ever ceasing to push their own signature sound forward. In that spirit, the band's twelfth full-length Battles sees In Flames eschewing proven formulas in favor of trying new things, most notably finding a new collaborator in Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, The Used), who was brought into the band's coveted inner circle in order make Battles an album that will appeal to every type of In Flames fan.

Just what you'd expect from In Flames
I haven't listened to In Flames for a while now and wanted a wave of nostalgia regarding some heavy music I used to listen to in my teens. Unlike other bands like Bullet For My Valentine, In Flames have stayed true to their roots. I really can't fault this album. It's reminiscent of their earlier releases; fantastic melodies, crushing riffs, beautiful solos and profound lyrics. A real though provoking album, while providing the perfect balance to just bang your head along to some great sounding music. I recommend listing to on headphones as the clarity of the lead and rhythm guitar aren't fantastic through speakers alone, however this may just be my setup as my speakers are average at best. When I listen to this through my headphones I lose track of the world, my surroundings are enveloped for the duration of the album and I feel like I was a teenager again, on the precipice of discovering greatness.Well done In Flames!

I really liked it actually and I have tickets to see them ...
I really liked it actually and I have tickets to see them supporting avenged sevenfold in January and this has just made me more excited. It's a little different from a lot of their heavier earlier stuff, they've brought a lot into their sound but I don't think it's a negative thing, like most things from Sweden it's highly efficient!!!

Great Album!
I have listened to IF for years now and really like all of their older stuff, if you are expecting old in flames you will be disappointed. Obviously they have changed a lot since their early days but this album is still fantastic though and although its got a more commercial sound to it (maybe im getting old), its not as heavy as some IF fans but its catchy af to the point where I find myself humming the songs. Its not the old In Flames but its good album nonetheless which I have listened to about 20 times thus far and not tiring.

Awesome
Amazing album, definitely one of my fave at the moment. It's a lot more upbeat and catchier than In Flames usual stuff. Whether it's to your preference or not is upto the listener, personally I love it. Really easy to pick up and get addicted to. Just buy it already!

What you would expect from in flames
Better than siren charms and a sense of purpose.but not as good as sounds of a playground fading or come clarity. This probably won't satisfy any old school jesterheads either but overall it's a mix of heavy poppy melodic rhythms in C tuning.Good price too at £8.
