Drop 8 is the Best USA Bat so far if your kid can swing it.
The 719 is by far the best USA bat my (just turned 9) son has hit to date. The 29" drop 8 is solid through the entire barrel.Line drives and well hit ground balls absolutely scream off this bat.Smaller kids on the team tried it and balls were hit well but with faster pitching they had trouble getting it around consistently on time and went back to shorter lighter bats.I hit a couple balls off a tee with it and was very impressed.ZERO sting compared to every 2018 USA bat.

No Pop. Cracked?
We bought this for our 11 y/o son in February. We had demo’d the bat at a local hitting tunnel and he loved it. Out if the box the ball popped off the bat. After about a month we noticed that the ball was not coming off the bat in the same manner and it now had a funny sound when my son strikes the ball. Now he struggles to hit balls out of the infield with the bat, and has resorted to using a teammate’s bat completely. We have a $300 paperweight.

No sting, decent pop, son loves it
My son is 9 and has played for five seasons, now. We had a 2018 Easton Ghost X Hyperlite, which not only did not have much pop, but also stung like a honeybee and made my son afraid to hit the ball hard. He struggled so much he almost gave up baseball; and I’m his team’s coach. We even downgraded to a used wooden bat just to keep him interested, and he preferred the wood bat to the Ghost X Hyperlite. This bat lives up to its “no sting” reputation. After really struggling to hit in previous seasons, he is now loading up and smacking the ball hard. HARD. Even without batting gloves. Hard ground balls, high fly balls. And big, proud smiles from my son, which is the best reward. He now asks to go practice hitting in the park, which he NEVER did before. Each hit also “sounds” right: more like a wooden bat than many other USA bats, with no metallic “ping.”We have had some chips on the paint already, which is unusual. But I expected that after reading the review, so I accepted that before even buying it.We also got a -8 instead of a -10, which I suspect helps with the sting: more weight in the bat to not only hit the ball with more momentum, but also to dampen vibration. I think that helped. It also helps that we got it on 2019 clearance price. No need to get a 2020 model. USA bats are not that much different year to year, and this one is great. Very happy!

A power level up from the 618/619.
This bat is a 30 inch -8. My son swings the popular 618 -11. Mind you he will be 9 in December but is a bigger kid at 4’9 and 80 pounds. In addition to a heavier wood bat, my son is currently swinging this 719 in practice and at the cages. It’s a good weight to swing to get him used to a bat that will carry the ball farther as his strength increases. He pulls with it so it’s not too heavy. I think he will graduate to this bat within a couple of months or so.

No sting, but no more distance
Had a Beast X all aluminum last year and hit very well. Expected more from this bat with the great reviews on last year's and this year's reviews. On our first few hitting sessions, didn't see an improvement other than the elimination of sting. The bat also sounds very flat in comparison. With a 770 batting average and 920 slugging this past season, it will be hard to beat, just don't want to go backwards. Moved up from a 31" -8 on the beast to 32" -8 on the select.

So far so good
My 11 year old son has only used it once in the cages (live arm and machine) but already prefers it over his -10 CF Zen (also a USA bat). Pop seems significantly better than the Zen but would expect it given this bat is a -8. Zero hand sting and while it feels a pinch end-loaded v. the Zen, nothing too noticeable. Will get a better gauge against live pitching.Update: So my son used this throughout his All star season just raked. Compared to his old bat, CF Zen, the ball just popped. This is a sleeper bat and considering the price, is an absolute steal.

Bat broke in half after a month of use
This bat was fine but I wouldn't say it was much better than an average bat for half the price. However we will never know now because it broke IN HALF after about a month of normal use. My 10 year old son was in the batting cage with his hitting instructor when all of sudden CRACK! It broke clean in half when hitting a ball. I've never seen anything like it! Still waiting on a response from the seller. I will update with a good review if we get a full refund, as we should.

great bat until it breaks
our oldest son has always loved louisville sluggers but he is up to bbcor and his bat is all aluminum, never had a problems with those. Our younger son is still in leagues that allow composite and or hybrid. He broke his last easton but it wall all composite so we steered away and went with this hybrid. He had it for less than a month and loved it until it broke in half. He is not one of those monstrous 13 year olds where you may expect a bat to crack every once in a while so we were surprised. We have started the louisville slugger warranty process but are not sure if we even want a replacement because I am positive it will crack again. When you look at the broken area, it is amazing how thin the composite material is in the handle. Most likely we will be buying a full aluminum bat from now on. Any pop advantage of composite is not worth spending money over and over on broken bats. We stilll have many all aluminum bats that have been abused for years with no cracks or breaks.
