Best value USB Audio Interface for guitarists at this time (2025)
For two years I've been using next size up, the AXE I/O Solo which is the same except it has an additional Hi-Z input for a microphone. It sounds very good for electric guitars and basses. It has a passive/active switch, JFET input optimized for electric guitar and a the Z-Tone knob - a variable impedance control that adjusts the way a guitar or bass interacts with its pickups. This allows for a wider range of tones and more control over the sound. The Z-Tone knob adjusts the impedance from 1 MOhm ("sharp") to 2.2 kOhms ("bold") At the maximum impedance, the sound is tighter, sharper, and more precise Increasing the load makes the sound thicker and bolderI bought this Axe I/O One for a friend to use for headphone practice using Tonex.I was surprised that it appears to be the same in every way except the additional mic input. The bundled AmpliTube 5 SE and Tonex SE was the same, the specs appear to be the same. It operated and sounded just like my Axe I/O Solo.So in sum, this unit is the best value audio interface a guitar player could choose at this time.

Works great!
I'm a bedroom guitarist and was looking to replace a super old Focusrite Scarlett. I use Bias FX 2 for the most part and was getting some pretty bad latency and sound breakup if I tried to do more than a couple effects in a signal chain.Setup for this was super quick and easy and after having this for a few months now I would definitely purchase again for the price.

Great value ,good hardware, great software
Works greatMost ppl choosing this device will be wanting the free amplitube se and tonex se software.Which are significant upgrade from the free "cs" version and put into upgrade pricing for full versions of you want them later. The Ableton lite code will be on the third party software tab of the axe I/o hardware tab of your user area after you have created an account with IK.I would have taken half a star off for the circles I had to run in to set it all up but not a full star and at 50+ years I'm more impatient than most with the registration window parade. The set up and drivers do require registering product and going to several user pages to get all the free software. After driver install be sure to got to windows hardware audio settings(Not the desktop sound menu) and under properties for axe i/o uncheck the exclusive control boxesOtherwise amplitube will mute all other audio. All this being said I'd give 4.5 stars because it's basically a high quality single input interface with midi and nice guitar preamp that includes an amazing amp and effects sim for guitar (or any input really) and Ableton lite for the value of the software.

Feels kinda cheap for a $140 product. Very light weight all plastic.
Sounds good. Software is decent. Little disappointed with build quality. My IK Multimedia X-Space Reverb peddle is very well made. This not so much. Kinda makes me wish i had gone with the gen 4 Focusrite.Good thing it's not going on my peddle board right?

Excellent interface for guitar players
After a lot of research for the best audio interface, as someone who plays guitar for fun, this was pretty much perfect for me. USB-C powered and geared for guitar players, with a very good price point. It has all the features I was looking for and all the inputs and outputs I will probably ever need. After about 2 months of use I can't really find anything bad to say about it, except maybe that it's all plastic, but this can also be a plus if you're looking for something on-the-go, as it will be lighter.

Some people blame their lack of knowledge on their equipment unfairly
This not only runs on Windows but runs on many more Windows computers than Macs. I have sold a lot of used DAC, amps and other audio equipment and when there is a problem it is user error all the time becaue I personally test what I sell on my Mac PC, Windows PC, iPad and Surface pro and yet there are always a few who want to do more with their computers than they know how to do. This is my second AXE and after trying all the others, I came back to it and love it.For that guy who thinks a major product made for Windows does not work on Windows without the company;s knowledge, try rebootinf after you attach to your comuter's USB port. If you just plug it in new it will not be recognized by your PC until you reboot. If that does not work, check the port you plug in into. Should be a port on your PC or laptop Also, you will not get any sound out of its Amp out until you down load the software for this device. not just Amplitude. You need to use the software to click on a meter to send your signal to your amp out port. You also have to turn your monitor knob to the left to hear sound before it goes into your software and to the right to here it processed. In short before anyone trashes. product, RTFM because the odds are that the problem is the user, not the gear. I supported tech for 50 years and 90% of the time the problem is the user and I have to listen to them curse the device or software they are using. One other thing, people get annoyed when they are asked if it is plugged in and accuse me of treating them like idiots. Same with other problems. I still ask the basics because 25% of the time, it is not plugged in or they did not bother reading the instructions or decided on a better way to do things. We call users Lusers for a reason. But it has provided me a fantastic living and I am all in favor of those who trash tech objects because it is above their level of knowledge or refuse to read the manual. This is a great product that I have used from day 1. Only sold my old one because a friend wanted/needed one right away and it was a chance for me to get the latest model which works on ally WIn and Mac machines. Heck I can probably plug in my toaster and get better tasting toast. :)Just note that because 90% of the customers have no problem maybe the problem is you. I long time musian bought my old DACs and I had to set them up for him. He did not call me screaming that i sold him junk. He simple admitted that he lacked the knowledge to install it. That does not make you stupid. I have a very high IQ and the only thing I know how to fix on a car is to fill the tires with air. That done not make me stupid, m 7 years in gifted classes did not teach us how to repair cars or fix tings. So not knowing how to do something does not make you stupid, it just means you lack the knowledge or skill to do one particularly thing.
