Lensvue 2

I have never worn any contact lenses in my life, and recently started at 67 years of age. I'm very mechanical and, as a former classical musician, have excellent dexterity. Nevertheless, it took me a few weeks to master inserting and removing my soft lenses - perhaps because I have large hands. I tried every approach I could find on the Internet, but none of them worked for me.To make matters worse, I found it extremely difficult to determine whether they were really clean before inserting them. Since the slightest lint or other extraneous material causes extreme discomfort, and they were (at first) so difficult to remove and reinsert, I did not look forward to putting them in each morning.The Lensvue 2 makes it very easy to see whether the lenses are clean. With a lens adhering lightly to the device by the soaking solution's surface tension, just look through the magnifier to see any dust or lint. Then, while the lens is still in place on the Lensvue 2, you can insert it with no additional handling. Moreover, it's very easy to see whether the Lensvue 2 itself is clean... just look through it and, if necessary, wipe it with a lint-free lens tissue.I have tried every other insertion tool on the market, and they're all sitting in a drawer.BTW, I eventually evolved the following approach for removing my lenses, which works every time for me now. Perhaps it will work for others.1. Wash your hands with soap and dry them thoroughly on clean, lint-free toweling. This softens your skin and helps you to feel the edges of the lens2. Place your left thumb and index fingers on the lower and upper eyelids (of either eye) exactly at the margins, and hold the eye open as far as possible. A half-hearted effort here does not work for me.3. Rotate your eye downward.4. Place the tip of your right index finger and thumb on the top and bottom edges of the lens, respectively. You MUST be able to feel the edges under your fingertips.5. While turning the eye up and to the left, grasp the edges of the lens and squeeze them together to remove it.I'm right-handed and use my right and left hands in the same manner for either eye; i.e., my left hand always holds the eye open while the right removes the lens.

It is as advertised, but I did not find it useful for my needs. My contact does not have writing on it to show correct placement so I just have to figure out when mine is inside out by feel.

I recently made a change from using hard contact lenses (since 1965) to soft lens. I thought I would transition like a pro having literally half a century of experience with contacts. Not So!...Turns out that inserting and removing soft contact lenses are much different than hard lenses & in my opinion much more difficult. I decided to try this little device because I found it almost impossible to determine if the contact was inside out or not. After receiving I discovered my contacts do not have any writing but I then discovered that this device made inserting my soft contacts a breeze, I would have purchased this just for that result alone. The device also shows me the condition of my contacts which is important. I do think the price is pretty high for what you get, if the price was a little more reasonable I would have rated it 5-stars, but then again it has made my life so much easier to use soft contact lenses that I wouldn't be without it. I'm almost 70 and using a $5 lighted magnifying mirror (8×) purchased in a garage sale and this device, inserting lenses becomes very simple and quick...The mirror also works great for removing the lenses.

I recently switched to very soft contact lenses that have a tendency to fold over when being inserted. I researched contact lens inserters and tried this one because it also had a magnifier to check for grit and came with a container to keep it clean.On the positive side, the magnifier works well to check the text and look for bits of lint on the lens. If that is your main concern, this is a good product for you.Unfortunately, I found everything else about using this product frustrating...First, the inserter is exactly the height and about half the diameter of the container. Try as I might, I could not gracefully pluck this product from its container; each time I had to dump it and the solution into my palm. For me, this hassle alone is not worth using the product.Second, the lens has to be placed on the end of the inserter, so it lacks the cleanliness of other inserters that can pick up a lens and insert it into the eye.Third, the lenses stick to the end of the inserter and do not grip the eye, so it doesn't achieve the main goal of inserting contacts! Maybe it would work well for hard contacts, but not super soft ones.Eventually, I gave up and used my fingers to insert the contacts.

Purchased this hoping that it would help me make sure lenses is not inside out and also help insert. The lense is so small it does not see the numbers on the lense, you have to slide it around and its not designed well. The insert part dwarfs the lense and is way to big, what a waste of $17.

Works great. I use air optix day&night lenses. They're so soft and floppy that when I'd clean them, they would flip inside out from one finger tip to the other. By the time I was done cleaning, It was nearly impossible to tell if they were right side out. This Lensvue device made it very easy to see the surface of the lens even without my glasses on. It took me a few seconds to see the CIBA print on the lens, but looking carefully I could see it. I could also see that the lens wasn't as clean as I thought..I bought this along with an Optiwand lens inserter from another amazon seller. That is also an awesome product that works really great.I love my contacts after I get them in, but for years it was hardly worth the frustration of putting them in.This LENSVUE device and the Optiwand have made it so easy now. I can't believe the eye doctor doesn't supply these to all new wearers.
