Outstanding Guide
The book starts with short essays in various topics, such as geography, history, birds, sea mammals, etc. Then there is a map that shows all the sites on South Georgia, followed by a chapter on each location with in-depth info on the wildlife, geography etc of each specific site. The pictures and maps are beautiful. This is a handy guide to take with you. Absolutely worth it!

Essential Trail Guide for any Visitor.
I liked this better than all the other books about South Georgia. This is written like a trail guide, with slightly more depth. It is the best, most current, info I have found on South Georgia.I think it was the publisher's who pared and squeezed out this format. This is a size which travels better than the other large books, all of which are surprisingly outdated.

Essential Guidebook
Excellent coverage of all important parts of South Georgia Island. Needs to upgrade the chapter on elk and rats (eradicated!). The population of South Georgia pipits, the only singing bird, has remarkably recovered from the brink of extinction.
