Used to replace the OEM starter on a 2009 Koehler Courage 25, SV730S in a Troy Bilt 50" ZT.I've had problems with poor/weak starting with this engine for years. I had upgraded the cables and the starter relay several years back with only minimal improvement. The OEM starter finally totally died this weekend, so I had to replace it, and in hind sight, I wish I had done this years ago. This replacement starter performs much better than the OEM starter ever did. Could not be more pleased with this purchase and Amazon had this product delivered to me in about 24 hours from the time of placing the order ... way to go Amazon!!

Ordered this unit during October 2022 after the original starter began to fail.The ordered replacement arrived quickly and installed/functioned as expected......Used the mower during the Fall of 2022 a couple times without any issues.Fired up the mower in April of 2023 and all of the sudden the new starter failed.Upon removing/inspecting,the locking nut on the spring loaded throw out gear came off and there is no observable way to re-install/torque the nut back on.......I was dead in the water in the middle of the lawn,so I ordered another unit.It should not have failed (Not This Soon) & couldn't fix it and passed the return date.I'm a handy person and wanted to just fix/put back together,however there was no obvious way to lock the geared shaft to enable the washer & lock nut to be re-installed & torqued on the end.There is most likely a special tool to accomplish this task. Give that as it may,this starter unit should not have failed with relatively little to no use.......It is obvious to me that the unit was not assembled & inspected correctly......other than that the form/fit & function of the replacement unit was good and the price was favorable to other sources.

no dislikes fits perfect a place in wpg mb .ca sold me a starter that was off an 11 or 12 hp motor! he said it was an up date this starer fit but wrong one & charged me $250.00 it fit but wrong stater much smaller he told me it was an update it was not & was not orginal starter has more teeth i th ink 11 tooth the one they sol was 9 teeth did not last 2 months this one is the right one 11 teeth it is the proper starter & much cheaper not a problem thankyou!
