A excellent reference book. List nearly every coin from the 17th century with descriptions and other information. It's a very large soft cover book with over 1600 pages.

THis book is well illustrated and highly informative. It is an excellent reference on seventeenth century world coins with scads of descriptions

OK, so these books are basically canonical lists of all the coins on the planet. In tribute, I will say a few words in canonical list format.1. Do not, under any circumstances, pay list price for these things. It has been my experience that your local library book sale is probably giving these away for a dollar. Since they're reference guides, libraries turn these over every single year. Don't pay $50 when you can get them for $1 at the annual booksale. They'll be a year out of date but who cares.2. Remember, the prices listed here are RETAIL prices. If you take your collection to the coin shop to sell it you'll get ... well, not the prices listed.3. These don't change all that much from year to year and when they do it's generally to reflect a change in the price of gold or silver.

easy to read

Very great for years of foreign coins

I have found this book to be a valuable and very accurate tool in learning more about old coins. I have all the later publications from Krause that enable me to accurately find and value any coins that may come my way.

I knew it was a gamble buying this book... The paper books are very good and a known entity in the coin world. once you read all the bits on how to use them are they very helpful for identifying coins, and learning about them.This digital version..well it lacks a table of contents, index, guide words or any type of seach to hlep you find want you want. This is really bad in a 1500 page reference book. the US red book seems to have a pretty good model in digital form, this digital book does not. Will see if Ic an get my money back and I will buy the paper back.

Detailed book on milled coins. Very happy with the quality of pictures and details of the coins. Highly recommended for world coin collectors.
