PioneerDEH-S410DAB CD Player with DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio, USB and Spotify

Bought this to replace an older Pioneer headunit that had failed after about 10 years use. Relative easy to install, though annoyingly the connectors on the back of the headunit are a fractionally different size to those on the one being replaced, so I had to swap the ISO-to-Pioneer adapter over.I also bought a DAB aerial to go with this, and that took a little more installing, as the cabling had to be threaded through the dash from the windscreen A-pillar. Once installed DAB worked just fine.Sound quality is pretty good. Please that I can now have a display the same colour as the rest of lighting in the car (orange in my case). The colour does change slightly when the display dims when the headlights are turned on.I used to have all my music on a USB stick which plugged into a cable from the rear of the headunit, so it could be placed out of sight. As the only USB port is on the front of this model, I had to swap to a micro-SD card and low profile adapter, which works fine, but it does leave it looking like has a big wart on its face.Overall good and would recommend.

On installation the unit set up was ok and work fine following initial installation. Once the ignition was turned off all the set up information was lost and unit had to be set up again. This happens every time the ignition is turned off. Amazon support suggested some remedies which did not work and followed up with an email suggested I phone pioneer direct for support. The phone number would not connect. Direct access to the pioneer website and this unit cannot be found in their current range of products. Cannot now connect to amazon support. Very frustrated. Do not want to return item but feel I now have to.

Great powerful radio but you do have to play around with the settings lots of functions and features. Fitted it to my work van because I wanted a dab radio powers my 7 by 10 speakers easy and the CD player sounds fantastic.

Ordered this radio mainly to listen to DAB stations and with music from my phone. However, after installing it into the vehicle it became clear that the method that it uses to connect to a phone is only though a proprietary phone application and a USB cable. On top of that, it couldn't be used with a range of USB cables, especially USB-C cables. One would think that in this day and age that technology such as Bluetooth would be as standard on any level of aftermarket car stereo. Furthermore, the menu was also often a barrier to it's ease of use and it could only find a selection of 22 DAB stations at a time.

For a works van

I spent a long time researching stereos. This one in particular seemed to tick all boxes and boasted of all sorts of usability via iphone/android etc.Absolutely no mention on the listing of no Bluetooth (in 2020 you’d have thought this was just standard).Anyhow it was a 3 hour job to get the damn thing installed and required a lot of different aftermarket parts to ensure steering wheel control, parking sensor and DAB retention.After all that I was very disappointed to see no bluetooth after scrolling through the very un-user friendly menu.Anyhow so much work has gone into it i’m stuck with it now. Just wish this listing was more transparent.

Audio system work well up-to the point it stopped working.. this was 12 weeks after purchasing… followed up with support and no response received!!!! Very disappointed
