Purity Pool PCSKM Pelican Featherweight 16-Inch Residential Skimmer Net

Having burned through a number of inexpensive "molded" plastic skimmers in the past few seasons, this was exactly what I was looking for in size, design, and quality. The frame is solid and doesn't bend back under it's own weight as your try to skim. Net isn't taut, with the intentional slight excess in material providing the ability to capture as you skim, even if you like to take extra underwater passes before tapping it clean. (Tip from experience: Always tap with the pole, not the net frame for longer life.)It doesn't appear the net is replaceable in the long run (I could be wrong, I did not contact the company). And it certainly costs a little more than the average skimmers I'm seeing around these days. But I believe I got what I paid for.

This is the third net that we've had, the other two were a little bit cheaper. This net seems to be very sturdy, with a well designed leading edge scoop. The net is shallow, which is perfect for scooping and dumping debris. One of the other reviews mentioned that they thought that the holes in the net were too small, making it difficult for water to drain through. Not the case at all. The holes in the netting are a typical size. We were actually hoping that they would be a bit smaller, since my wife LOVES to scoop out the grit that the squirrels throw into our pool. (All true except the wife part. Pretty sure that she doesn't actually love to scoop out the pool.)We would definitely recommend this for purchase. Good product for a good price.

The product is very sturdy and well made. The netting doesn’t seem like it would tear easily although I’ve only used it once so far. My only complaint is that it’s a bit pricey for what it is.

Please state clearly in the product description that the pole is not included.

So far I would rate this as the best pool skimmer that I have had, which isn't saying much. I have never had one last more than one pool season. This one appears to be more sturdy however I bought at end of last years pool season and thus the use so far somewhat limited and durability unknown. The netting has fine perforations which I like since it picks up small debris.

This is a good product, but the screen finally broke. Went to buy a new one and was surprised to see it jumped from $18 to $37.

It seems every year I have to buy 1 or 2 nets as they just fall apart from the combo of chlorine and sun but this one is really nice and is holding up really well. It also has a good curved edge so it makes it lots easier to get those leaves that seem to just want to stick to the pool bottom. This is a good size also and am very happy I bought this.

I love this net...I'm literally singing it's praises lol...best I've ever used and I use it daily! It's light and the design makes scooping up the leaves quick and efficient...good product...good price...good job "Pelican" it's so refreshing when someone actually makes a good product!
