3.75 Inch Round Orchid/Hydroponics Slotted Mesh Net Pot - 25 Pack

I am new to growing things without dirt. I started with a big tube of 2" net pots because they seemed most popular on You Tube. Those worked fine. I got these larger pots because they seemed useful. Some growers prefer them. There is a place for each. There are many manufacturers with slight variations. I chose these because of a strange feeling about both the relatively low price and the appearance of the wide rim and solid upper band around the cup. These two areas were lacking in the 2" net pots that I bought. I think the larger pots feel more like a hanging planter. The smaller ones are more like slings for the heart of the root-ball. I use Perlite. The plant tends to push the stuff out the top as it grows. With the larger pots one does not have to fill them to the top and so there is a place for the media to go when it gets pushed out of the way without spilling over. It clearly offers more support for the larger rooted plants. The one drawback is these larger cups tend to float out of the holes I have made to hang them in while the 2" net pots tend to snap into the holes I made for those. Possibly too much solution in the tub but before one has long roots one must feed the short ones ...

This 4" net pot is the perfect size to bump up small Vandas or Vanda seedlings as they grow

From looking at the picture, it looks like the lip of the pots is decently wide... this is not the case.The pot barely has any lip, if that matters for you!
